Senior Project Idea: Take 2

after presenting my photos in class and getting some feedback from everyone, the idea that interested me the most was when Russ threw out there mixing my portraiture with my past Grimm Brothers/Girl Stuck in the Woods projects. so here's my current new idea for senior project:


I want to do a shoot of the "Lost Girl" in the woods. Bring it up fairytale style with her in a prom/princess style dress. I've found someone to be my Lost Girl, I want the look of it to be in black and white but have her be the only thing in color (if this doesnt look right I'm fine with scraping that idea - I haven't had the chance to take any photos of her yet in this style so I'm still not sure how it'll look). I've done some research in these kinds of photos and I've been very inspired by Annie Leibovitz's Wizard of Oz photos as well as her Beauty and the Beast photos. mine will look nothing like these but they've been idea starters. some other photos I've found just looking around on the web have been:

The Art of Portrait Photography

 As a senior in the Art Department at UMA, I'm required to do my senior thesis as an art show so this is my idea that I'll build off of:

The art of portrait photography has been defined many different ways.

I see it as a way to capture the subject within their surroundings.

That precise moment will forever be frozen in time. 

Not just in the mind but in a way that will be revisited with perfect clarity.
