I want to do a shoot of the "Lost Girl" in the woods. Bring it up fairytale style with her in a prom/princess style dress. I've found someone to be my Lost Girl, I want the look of it to be in black and white but have her be the only thing in color (if this doesnt look right I'm fine with scraping that idea - I haven't had the chance to take any photos of her yet in this style so I'm still not sure how it'll look). I've done some research in these kinds of photos and I've been very inspired by Annie Leibovitz's Wizard of Oz photos as well as her Beauty and the Beast photos. mine will look nothing like these but they've been idea starters. some other photos I've found just looking around on the web have been:
and then pulling from my own work the ideas are coming from:
any and all feedback is appreciated!! as well as tips, ideas or suggestions :)
You have a stronger direction to go in now. Your images are wonderful and the concept is exciting. I agree with the black and white/color idea you propose.
ReplyDeleteI love your new idea. You seem to be taking other things that have interested you in the past and expanding on them further. This could be enticing for you, and interesting for us to see where you take it. I especially love the combo of black and white, it will add to the mysteriousness and wonder, while drawing attention to the character(s).
ReplyDeleteI agree that this is a much stronger direction to go in. The concept intrigues me and I can't wait to see what you come in with! Like Laurie and Tiffany said, the black and white will complement your concept well. I'm not sure how it will look with the figure being in color, I suppose it will depend on exactly what you want to say with the series. I could turn out beautiful or it could be just awkward...but you're willing to scrap it if it doesn't come out right. Can't wait to see your work!
ReplyDeletethank you all so much for your input!! its been helpful and good to know that the direction I'm heading in is a good one lol
ReplyDeleteCatherine, I like how you are building off your Brother's Grimm project. I think your new idea is very exciting, and I look forward to seeing it develope.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone is saying I think your idea is exciting and it sounds like a lot of fun, not only to photograph but also for the audience.
ReplyDeleteI really like the direction in which you have now decided to go! I can't wait to see some of what you have been working on!
